Making the grade

"If there were no schools to take the children away from home part of the time,  the insane asylums would be filled with mothers." - Edgar W Howe

How true!  And so it was with great relief that, as mentioned on yesterday's post, both Will and Caitie got into the Alice Smith School in Kuala Lumpur.

For those concerned grandparents, aunts, uncles, et al, it is a British International School where Will will be able to finish his A levels (biology, chemistry, physics and maths), and Caitie will be able to do her GCSEs, including digital photography, which she loves.  (The background photo on this blog is one of hers, it's a close-up of a dandelion "clock".)

It's a nice school, a far cry from the grim halls of the schools Alex and I went to, as you can see from this photo:

There are tennis courts, an olympic sized swimming pool, and so many computers their electricity bill must be almost as high as their fees! ;-)

The only drawback is that it is 45 minutes out of town, but there are plenty of school buses, and I guess it gives me more time to stay sane......

That looks a great school - I hope they both do well. It will be interesting to come on here and see how you are all getting on.

It is another thing ticked of the list, phew. I like the dandelion background too.
